Locale nuovo, disorganizzato, inizialmente sembrava non ci fosse posto poi abbiamo fatto notare che dei posti si erano liberati e ci hanno fatto sedere. Porzioni molto scarse e decisamente eccessivo nel prezzo. Qualità del cibo modesta.

Opened in November 2024 part of a local fishing business. A really nice fit out, charming staff and excellent food. The chowder was packed with a variety of delicious seafood (£7 small ££9.50 regular) and the lemon sole dish of the day (£20) was superb. Good craft beer in tins available.

Superb fresh scallops. Best mescal margaritas outside of London.
We shared the fish cakes and focaccia with dips for small plate starters followed by the lemon sole and scallops. All the desserts were delicious.
Excellent service, a vibrant atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.

A really nice new restaurant well finished inside with nice staff. Fair prices .Food is very good and obviously the fish is the choice to have. Chowder recommended . Only observation is the seasoning in the chips should be less or optional as it can overpower the rest of the food

If you were a fan Skipper’s Scran Van (who wasn’t?!), you’ll love this place. Food is superb and staff are warm and welcoming. Very good prices compared to the rest of Kirkcudbright’s sit down dining options. Keep up the good work guys. We’ll be back!

Nipped through to try Swally ‘n’ Scran in Kirkcudbright for lunch today with my wife. I really love the decor and layout they have created. So handy with the parking too with the big harbour car park right in front of it.
The food was absolutely amazing. We went with the crab and shrimp sliders, large plate of scallops and a side portion of fries.
The sliders were so fresh and tasty, I swear the crab must have been out the sea only a couple of hours !, the salad the same, so fresh and crisp and full of flavour, it came with a very nice dressing.
The scallops were honestly amazing, again so fresh and the garlic was just perfectly portioned with them, yet again the salad was outstanding. I didn’t count them but you certainly get a good sized portion of scallops.
The fries were possibly the best fries I have ever tasted in a restaurant, perfectly crisped with massive flavour.
This has to be a future multiple award winning seafood restaurant. It certainly deserves it.
I have only one negative however it doesn’t stop me giving a full 5 stars. I disliked having to go up to the counter to order and pay for my food and then have to go to the bar area to order and pay for my drinks separately.
Would I return, absolutely. In fact I can’t wait to go back through and sample more from the menu.
The staff were all lovely, friendly and attentive too. Not a single member of the team failed to acknowledge us with a smile or hi, this really makes it feel a very warm welcome to any customers.
If you like seafood, you just have to try this place.
I look forward to a review from Grace Dent, who I am confident will pay them a visit as word spreads of how good the food is here. She is a seafood fan after all.
Outstanding is the word I would use to describe Swally ‘N’ Scran.

The restaurant looks absolutely amazing and the staff are welcoming and helpful. It all creates a great atmosphere.
The food is delicious and the menu is great.
Definitely recommend!
We will certainly be back and we wish the Swally n’ Scran all the best for the future after opening this week.
