Not one complaint. The place was packed when we arrived. There was about a 20 minute wait, but that was expected for a Sunday afternoon when churches let out. My fried porkchops was crispy, tender, and flavorful. Mac-n-cheese, moist, baked beans were tasty, like the added ground meat and peppers. My husband's ribs were tender, and the Italian beans were also flavorful with the added peppers. My son consumed his fried mushrooms in seconds.

We haven't even left the restaurant and I already can't wait to come back! Best BBQ around, and my southern raised husband can vouch for that! Home made soul food! And homemade desserts, everyone is so friendly! We can't wait to bring our kids in for the mocktail bar! It's not just the food, it's the whole atmosphere!

We went today for an early family dinner. The dining area was impeccably clean. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The service was amazing and even overly accommodating when they were out of something we ordered. The staff's recommendation was perfect! The fried catfish was some of the best I've ever had! Also highly recommend the fried shrimp, 6 cheese Mac and cheese and the cornbread is delightful! Make sure you try the lavender lemonade! We will definitely be back! Thank you for a great meal!

Amazing food!! Quick service. I absolutely love the piano for private music and they have mock tails for the kids and on Sunday there is a family style meal for 10 people or more! I am so happy they decided to come to Wilmington

I was so excited to try this place! I love bbq but not a fan of NC bbq. Me and my husband shared a rib plate because any time I have ever ordered at a BBq place the portions are always huge. Not here! I was shocked to see our food come out on a kids sized plate. We paid over $50 for a rib plate and a side of mushrooms. The mushrooms are sliced so thin that you can’t even tell they are mushroom. The ribs had a lot of fat in them. The bbq was bland and the fried okra tasted like it was frozen. The staff was friendly even though she was sitting down when we came in and the other girl was on the phone taking an order. She didn’t really seem too interested in explaining the menu. They say you can add a meat for an extra fee but the 2 meats we chose were not part of the deal so we just stuck with the ribs. I hope they improve but I’m sure what we got was the way it has always been.

Mema’s has refreshed and revamped the interior of this building and it’s great! The food is awesome as always and the staff were so welcoming. Definitely check them out and be prepared to leave very full or take some leftovers home with you.

We've been watching and waiting, waiting and watching for this place to open.

It was WELL WORTH THE WAIT!

The meats -I had the pulled pork and my wife had the pork ribs' were supurb.

But a SURPRISE was the quality and flavor of the sides, so often a crashing disappointment in so many places.

The green beans were heavenly.
The baked beans were flavorful and NOT mushy.
The whole experience had us wanting to go again soon.

Try it.

Best BBQ in the area! So happy they moved to Wilmington. Staff is so friendly & attentive, vibe is so positive and homey and you get so much food for the price. The brisket is to die for! Perfect for a family meal on Sunday and great salads for workday lunch. Highly recommend!
