The lady working was the rudest woman I have met in a long time. She acted put out that I was even trying to order. She lied about having different types of cheese and acted as if she didn't even want to take my order. I ended up not ordering anything and leaving. I will not be back.

This is NOT your typical cafe, bar, fast food! This is made from scratch, made with love, down home cooking. The hubs and I went there for lunch today and I can’t stop thinking about the sweet potato fries/slices and the ever so flavorful and moist (yes, I said, moist!) chicken breast. I found out that the owner, Rachelle (aka Peachie), does most of the cooking, using family recipes passed down from generation to generation. I HIGHLY recommend and look forward to going back soon.

So good, I’ll come out even without the gun range. We had the wings, catfish sandwich, potato rounds, okra and fried pickles. Everything was great

If you want to celebrate your birthday with your family OR have a group larger than 4 OR like to eat good food...DO NOT GO TO THE RANGE N' ROSES CAFE! Allow me to explain.
We visited this cafe on Saturday January 27 around 11:30 am.
My sister had called the only phone number on the website a few days earlier to arrange for my family of 18 to meet there to celebrate my birthday together. She talked to someone who told her they would be able to accommodate us and would be expecting us.
When we arrived they were NOT expecting us and were unprepared. They "attempted" to accommodate us at first by seating us in the bar room upstairs (did I mention 10 of us were under 21).
The waitress didn’t have enough menus and made it clear that we were a major inconvenience through her actions, words and mannerism.
She finally did take 1/3 of our group's order and then told us we would have to wait to place the remainder of our orders after this first round of food came out and was served.
After over an hour, the first 6 orders were delivered to the table and then we were told there were other customers that were priority and that we would not be able to place any more orders until those customers were taken care of. Probably totaling another hour or more of waiting to get food for the rest of our party. So our large party of 18 with the majority being small kids was supposed to wait ANOTHER hour to get the rest of our food?!!
I’m not sure who those customers were because we were the only ones there when we arrived.
After being informed of this, the majority of the group left and took the hungry kids to get food elsewhere. The food we did receive was not good quality. Especially the chicken wings. They were dry and borderline inedible. The majority of our group left without eating anything.
Those of us staying to use the gun range made our way downstairs and had a conversation with the cafe manager about our dissatisfaction with our service and experience. She very quickly pointed fingers first at us for not “letting her know we were coming” and then started pointing the finger at the gun range for taking our call but not letting her know we were coming. She was so adamant and sure that none of it was her fault that she took us over to the manager of the gun range.
After hearing the situation he told her and us that there is no affiliation or connection between the range and the cafe. The cafe is a separate business that just happens to lease space in the same building.
Here is what very likely happened. We called the gun range by accident thinking we called the cafe. The guy who answered the phone put us on hold and went over to the cafe and asked the manager about our large party coming on Saturday. She gave him verbal approval. She then proceeded to forget and not make proper arrangements. So when we showed up a couple days later she was unable to accommodate us. And then in her “trying to accommodate us” she continued to make bad management decisions and have poor communication. Plus she served us food that was of poor quality.
If she would have simply acknowledged our frustration, apologized for the miscommunication and taken the blame and asked how she could have made it right, I wouldn’t be writing this essay.
But she didn’t, she blamed everyone but herself which guarantees we will never spend a dollar at her cafe again. The gun range saved the day and even though they had nothing to do with it and it wasn’t their fault, they covered our range fee and took care of us the rest of the afternoon! That is business management 101 which is why we will continue to speak highly of Wilshire range and will forever speak poorly of the cafe. Save your time and your money and eat somewhere else!
And yes we did still pay the bill!!
